Blog #16: Advisory Meeting #2

EQ: How can a basketball coach most influence a young person's transition to adulthood?
Answer 2: A basketball coach can most influence a young person's transition to adulthood by teaching them the importance of commitment.
1) Commitment is essential in adult finances. For example, you cannot simply stop paying for something whenever you want to.
2) Teaching players commitment is a necessity for a successful team. It is impossible to progress as a team if they players do not fully devote themselves to going to practices and participating in similar events.
3) Commitment is also important in an adult relationship. For example, one must stay committed to one partner in order to have a happy marriage.
Concluding Sentence: If a basketball coach teaches their players the importance of commitment, the results will produce more responsible and dedicated adults.
